How many calories in Egg Drop Soup? Egg Drop Soup is such a healthy Chinese soup that it is easy to prepare at home with few ingredients and minimum cooking time.

It’s usually made with a sweet, savory, spicy chicken broth base seasoned with ginger, soy sauce, green onion, garlic, rosemary, pepper, and green onion.

The taste can be strong or mild and sweet or sour, depending on the variety of chicken broth bases used. I like to use a thicker, more robust chicken broth base for best results.

Egg Drop Soup is not a traditional Chinese soup and is different from most Asian recipes, but I find it delicious, and I’m sure you will also.

How Many Calories In Egg Drop Soup

Egg drop soup is probably one of my favorite soups that I have ever tried. It is straightforward to make and delicious as well. Here is how to make egg drop soup, in a sense, compared with other soups. Making egg drop soup is easy when you have good cooking skills, a little patience, and the ingredients at hand.

If you’re trying to find a healthy and balanced, warm, straightforward soup, this dish is for you as well as only takes 10 minutes! It’s also keto-friendly.

How to make Egg Drop Soup?

I’ve often wondered how the famous chef makes it. It’s a wonder they can keep on eating it every day! I’m sure they’re cooking it with love and care.

To make this kind of soup, you will need:

  • 3 eggs (beaten)
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • vegetable stock
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 4 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 tablespoon reduced-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger,
  • Optional seasonings such as thyme
  • Sliced green onions, sage, or Rosemary.

Start by in a pot, bring the chicken broth, ground ginger, and soy sauce to a boil.

Next step, combine the cornstarch and water and stir into the boiling broth until thickened. Next, use fine-toothed scissors to cut the egg whites into fine pieces.

Besides, slowly drizzle the three eggs beaten into the soup while gently stirring in a circle in the same direction.

Finally, remove from heat and Season to taste with salt, sesame oil, and green onions, folding in the rest of the ingredients.

Notes on processing:

You’ll need to have a heavy stock base in a saucepan to boil the soup. Then, stir in your dry ingredients (celery, vegetables, chicken broth if using) and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat and cover to keep simmering. Let the mixture stew, occasionally stirring, until it is reduced and liquid begins to steam.

When it’s simmering, stir in your favorite seasonings:

  • Ginger, scallions, garlic, sesame oil, soy sauce, and black pepper.
  • Carefully whisk together your three main ingredients and pour over the hot liquid, covering everything with a plastic lid to steam the ingredients.
  • Let this simmer for about 10 minutes or until thickened and you are ready to serve.

If you want quick soup-making tasks, use the small food processor. This convenient kitchen product will help you more comfortably prepare food ingredients.

Is egg drop soup healthy?

The secret of great Chinese soups like this one is in the ingredients. Chicken bones (also known as yolk) are the best calcium, vitamin B12, and protein sources. I like to use soy sauce for its high fiber content for added health value, but many recipes omit the soy sauce and are just as good.

The best way to enjoy this soup is hot and then relaxed. I like to serve egg drop soup right out of the steamer while still hot. I let it simmer on the stove and then bring it to room temperature. This keeps the ingredients from getting old, and I can also serve it cold if I want to avoid the intense flavors.

My husband loves egg drop soup, and I try to make it several times a week. It is one of my favorites. It has a slightly sweet and sour taste and a satisfying texture.

The secret lies in the robust flavors of the broth and the slight bit of boneless, skinless chicken. He especially likes the crunchy bits of hard-boiled eggs that stick to the bottom of the pot. Combining all these things makes egg drop a delicious hot soup and is worth a try.

How many calories in Egg Drop Soup?

This soup has become very popular since it first became available on the Chinese menu. Although the number of calories varies from source to source, this soup is no less healthy than many other soups.

The following report provides information regarding the calories in egg drop soup and other foods considered low in calories.

How many eggs are in this recipe? This depends on which recipe you use or how many eggs you buy and cook at home.

It is essential to use high-quality eggs, such as organic and free-range, and remember to carefully read the label of ingredients to make sure the eggs you are using are egg-free.

Many times egg dishes contain eggs that are not entirely safe for consumption due to salmonella or other bacteria in the egg itself. Therefore, before cooking your soup, check the label of ingredients to make sure you are using an egg-free version.

This soup is shallow in calories and high in protein. This means that a bowl of soup (about 1 cup) has only 71 calories.
