If you are looking for the answer to the question “How to make almond butter in a food processor?”, You’ve come to the right place. This article will introduce and guide you on making almond butter with a food processor that you already own in the kitchen.

In fact, the question “How to make almond butter in food processor?” It is not too difficult to answer for many professional chefs. However, that is a somewhat troublesome obstacle for many inexperienced people.

This article will show you the easiest way we have ever made successful almond butter with a food processor.

How To Make Almond Butter In A Food Processor

Why should almond butter be made in the food processor?

Some nuts (such as peanuts, macadamia, and cashews) will have more all-natural oils than others on sale in the supermarket. So this affects how easy it is to puree into butter. Of course, almonds have slightly less oil than other nuts.

Therefore, you cannot grind this nut into butter in a short time. If you have any idea how to use electrical equipment to help grind almonds, there’s a chance that their blades could break down quickly. Besides, it would help if you asked the electrical equipment to pulse for a shorter time to make almonds easier to crush.

It’s great that your best food processor can run for longer without burning the engine while grinding almonds. It can stir almonds in a food mill (while making oil) for an optimal time of 20 minutes, but without increasing the motor’s temperature. Using a food processor to make almond butter is better than using any other simple electrical appliance.

What to do if you plan to make almond butter using a food processor?

First, you need to consider a few rules to make it easier to grind almonds in a food processor. To make almond butter in the best food grinder, you need to buy pre-roasted almonds from a market or supermarket. However, you can also roast the almonds on a hot pan. Simply spread the almonds in separate layers on the cooking tray to roast.

After roasting the almonds, put them all in a food processor (equipped with the S-blade) and process them into butter. During this processing, roasted almonds will inevitably go through various stages where you can observe them from the outside of the working bowl:

  1. The almonds will smash into a fine powder.
  2. The fine powder into a paste, a thicker mixture with a few dehydrated flakes.
  3. You have freshly created delicious butter ready to serve in meals.

Almond Health and Nutritional Benefits

Cardiac Health

Almonds help regulate a healthy cholesterol level due to their fiber and high Vitamin E content. Vitamin E may also help stop the development of plaques in your arteries, which can narrow them. Eating almonds reduces your risk of developing blood clots that can cause fatal heart attacks.

Almonds have a high level of magnesium and Potassium. Magnesium and Potassium assist in maintaining good cardiovascular health.

Magnesium improves the flow of blood, oxygen, and nutrients throughout the body, while Potassium is responsible for maintaining normal blood pressure and heart function.

Diabetes Prevention

The fiber in almonds is thought to play a role in preventing diabetes by helping in reducing the rise in sugar and insulin levels following meals.

Cell Health

Almonds have protein. Each serving of almonds has 20g of protein. Protein is essential for the health of your cells and muscles and maintains your skin, hair, and nails.

May Reduce the Risk of Cancer

Eating almonds may help counteract environmental toxins preventing health conditions that include cancer due to its Vitamin E content.

Weight management

The fiber in almonds makes you feel full, so you eat less. It also keeps digestion operating efficiently.

How to make almond butter at home?

Almond butter for everybody! Ready to eat almond butter to share with friends. This is how the almond butter looks like when ready. We bought these raw, unpasteurized almonds at the farmer’s market in Los Angeles. Be sure to ask they are not “cooked” or pasteurized.

Some stores also carry unpasteurized almonds, but if the label only says that it is raw, it is most likely pasteurized. Organic is great but not good enough. You want all the benefits of your almonds. [1]

How did we do it with the food processor?

  1. The secret is not to overfill the food processor. We used about half a pound of almonds. We used a Cuisinart 14 Cup Food Processor and filled it less than halfway. You may, of course, use other brands and sizes of food processors. Just make sure that your food processor is heavy-duty. Processing almonds will put your food processor to work. Use the “S” blade.
  2. After about 2 minutes, it is still powdery but broken down. Don’t give up yet. We are just getting started. Can you smell the sweet almond scent? The almonds get whipped to the walls of the food processor, so you have to scrape it down to make sure all of it gets blended.
  3. It has been about four minutes of blending, not yet almond butter. Periodically, stop the food processor and scrape down the almonds stuck to the side. The food processor may even stop spinning. If that happens, be sure to scrape the sides.
  4. About 6 minutes have passed, and you will start seeing a hint of almond butter. Keep mixing; we are almost halfway there. You can see the powder is starting to get stickier on the walls. The almonds bits are starting to stick together. About 8 minutes have passed by.
  5. Can you see the almonds are looking more liquid-like? It’s been 10 minutes of blending. Now you can see the creamy and delicious raw, non-pasteurized almond butter still in the food processor. It took about 12 minutes of blending.

Dig in! The almond butter is done!
