Ninja Blender And Food Processor Review
Contents
Were you looking for a great blender? Then the Ninja Blender And Food Processor combo might be able to help you out. For years Ninja had been successfully selling its famous Ninja BN801 Professional Plus Kitchen System model. But, they never made any significant changes until now because consumers were already satisfied.
The new Ninja BN801 Professional Plus Kitchen System is now equipped with 1400 watts and contains a “single server” feature (I’ll get to that later). Although the extra hundred watts isn’t exactly a drastic change, the single-serve feature is an improvement.
The blender in this review is the new Ninja Blender BL660 model. But, for all practical purposes, if you choose the Ninja Blender BN801, know that the quality isn’t different. However, the single-serve feature and cups are a BIG plus.
I bought the Ninja from this link on Amazon around two months ago and have since been testing out a variety of fruit smoothies and blends. In this review, I’ll be going over the different configurations, pros & cons, common questions, how it works, and troubleshooting. Anyway, shall we get this review started?
What’s In The Package:
Well, the first task when buying any new technology product is to bust open the box and figure out how it works. Fortunately, the Ninja BN801 Professional Plus Kitchen System is packaged nicely with all the blades, correctly attached, and the single-serve cups with their corresponding lids.
I’m not one to fiddle around with directions, and with the Ninja, it’s fairly easy to operate. But, there is a direction manually should you need it.
You’ll also receive a directions manual, a customer service card, pictured assembly sheet. Besides, included the Ninja Inspiration Guide with 28 or so simple recipes. These recipes are to give you an overview of the blender’s capabilities; they aren’t exactly anything of quality.
If you’re looking for some fun stuff to make with your blender, make sure to check out these Ninja recipe books, which contain hundreds of great smoothies, juices, and meals you can make with your Ninja.
The Different Configurations:
Unlike the first standard model, which only contained the base and pitcher, the BL660 has two setups: the single-serve and the normal pitcher.
(2) 24 oz. Single Serve Blending Configuration
The single-serve feature is new to the Ninja Professional Blender and is great for quickly fixing something without having to clean up all the gunk out of the entire pitcher. This setup also allows for a better blend when you only need to slice up something small.
It’s extremely easy to use as well. Simply screw the single-serve blade set on the cup tightly, flip the cup upside down, place it on the motor base, rotate the cup until it locks, and press the single-serve button to blend.
72 oz. Blender Jar Configuration
This setup is the standard 72 oz. Blender pitcher setup. If you were to buy the older NJ600 model, you’d be getting the same configuration (just with less power). With such a large pitcher, you can fit a LOT into it, which is nice if you want a variety of ingredients or need to serve many people.
64 oz. Precision Processor Bowl
The 64 oz. Processor bowl provides precision processing for even chopping smooth purees, and up to 2 lbs of dough Auto-IQ technology provides preset programs that do the work for you no guesswork required. So, with this part, you can make everything from dressing, sauces, purees, salsas, desserts, and more.

How Well Does It Work:
So you’re probably wondering the obvious question of how well does it work? Well, what I’d tell anyone from a master chef to the average consumer is that it works incredibly well.
This is a truly wonderful appliance for a $120-$140 blender that every kitchen must have.
Processing 1400 watts of power, you’ll be able to crush the ice with ease, shred vegetables, and pulverize fruits into spectacular smoothies. The Ninja Blender BN801 is not lying when it says it’s professional. The Ninja also can be very gentle if you need it to be.
With the three different speeds (1, 2, & 3), single-serve option, and pulse feature, the Ninja Blender BN801 lets you have full control of how you want your food sliced and diced.
Another helpful feature of the Ninja Professional Blender is that the bottom of the base contains four suction cups to keep the machine in place and the user knocking it over. Although the suction cups work pretty well, I wish they were much larger because I can still hit the blender over if I’m not too careful.
Also, I just noticed from the picture above that there are scratches on the table. You can be assured that the rubber/plastic suction cups won’t mark up you’re fine counter-tops. The scratches shown above are most likely from some other work I was doing.

Pros and Cons of Ninja Blender And Food Processor
After baking up quite a great deal of things with my Ninja Mega Kitchen System, I’ve learned the positive and negative aspects of the appliance very well.
- Power. Feed the Ninja ice, and it can spit out powdered snowflakes
- The 72 oz. blending jar contains a large pouring spout to serve up drinks quickly
- Single-serve cups are nice for whipping up a quick smoothie
- Diversity. With the control panel, you can have full control over your blends
- Not exactly unique to the Ninja, but blenders are pretty loud
- The suction cups aren’t as effective as they could be
What System to Get:
At this point, you’re probably contemplating whether you should buy this thing or not.
My honest opinion is that it all depends on your budget, what you’re cooking, and how frequently you’ll use your appliance.
Let me first breakdown the two models of the Ninja Blender And Food Processor:
